Parents of 8th Grade Students:
Eighth grade students have an exciting opportunity to apply for different specialized high school programs in the area. All of our students are guaranteed spots at either Central High School, Harding High School, or Bassick High School, depending on the student's address. Students received notices about which high school they are districted to in their class.
Below is some information about other programs that students can apply for. Please keep in mind that most schools have online applications. Your child will have time to work on their applications in school and will need your support in order to complete their applications on time. They will need a working email address for the online applications so the school can communicate with you. There are 2 applications on paper (Central Magnet and Agriscience) and those must be completed by December 1st.

About Ms. Johnson
I began working as the School Counselor at Read School in 2014. I love working in Bridgeport, and have met many wonderful people while working here at Read. I went to UConn for my bachelor's degree, and then Fairfield University for my Master's in School Counseling. When I am not at school, I like to play with my one year old son, go running, or read a book. I will read just about anything, and recently finished (and loved) the Harry Potter series!
