• Marcie Julian, Blackham Principal PK - 8

Marcie Julian has been at Blackham since 1994.  She joined the Blackham faculty as a Paraprofessional in a Special Education classroom, while going to school at night to earn her Master’s Degree in education. Upon the completion of her Master’s Degree she enrolled in Sacred Heart University to complete leadership courses and go on to receive her 092 Degree which allows one to be an administrator.

Her career always brought her back to Blackham, as a teacher, assistant principal and then fortunate to be principal.  Blackham has always been home to Ms. Julian.  She is lucky to have such a beautiful, understanding family that allows her to dedicate such time and effort to the Blackham Community.

  • Mr. B

Jaime Balisciano, Blackham Middle School Assistant Principal

Before beginning my educational career 23 years ago, I attended Pace University and received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. After graduating, I went on to Southern Connecticut State University where I earned my teaching certification, Masters in Elementary Education, and my Sixth Year Degree (092) in Educational Leadership.

In 2000, I was hired as an elementary school teacher in Hamden, CT, where I spent my next ten years teaching 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. In 2010, I was hired as an assistant principal at Read School in Bridgeport. After spending 5 years at Read, I was asked to become the new assistant principal at the brand-new Roosevelt School. In 2019, I was hired as a head principal in Orange, Ct before returning to Bridgeport in 2021.

I am very excited about serving as an assistant principal and the girls' basketball coach here at Blackham School. I absolutely love working with all of the students here, but I spend most of my time with the staff and students in grades 5-8. It is my goal day in and day out to help students to grow into well-rounded individuals that possess not only academic intelligence but emotional intelligence as well.

To conclude, I would like to thank all of our dedicated staff here at Blackham School, my amazing students, and their families for making Blackham an amazing place to be!
