Mr. Sean Ward

Assistant Principal 

2024-2025 marks Mr. Sean Ward’s third year at Bassick High School, as an Assistant Principal. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Principal at Jettie S. Tisdale School, where he served as an instructional leader for grades five through eight. He also focused on the social and emotional learning and growth of students and staff. Before he became an administrator, he was a teacher at Columbus School and Six to Six Magnet School.

Mr. Ward received his undergraduate degree from The University of Lynchburg in Early Childhood Development. He earned his Master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University and his Sixth Year degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Bridgeport.

Mr. Ward believes that ALL students have the potential to be great scholars and leaders. He pledges to always go the “extra mile” to meet the needs of the students. Mr. Ward realizes the significance of teamwork and will diligently work alongside students, parents, teachers and stakeholders to ensure Bassick students are prepared to pursue career or post-secondary education opportunities after graduation.

I am intensely excited to introduce myself as one of the assistant principals here at Bassick High School. I look forward to working alongside Dr.. Raiola, Dr. Auster, Ms. Maggiore, Mr. Milling, and Mr. Ward, who are part of our dedicated administrative team.
I bring with me 27 years of education experience, having taught abroad for seven years and in various districts across the U.S., including five years in New York, five years in Greenwich, and the last ten years in Bridgeport Public Schools. With a background in science and a doctorate in educational leadership, my ardor lies in supporting students to succeed through high-quality instruction in a supportive school climate and culture.
With this excitement, I commit to being part of the Bassick community and am eager to learn some new things unique to Bassick while supporting each one of you within our community. Please feel free to reach out.

Ms. Michele Maggiore

Hello! My name is Michele Maggiore and I have proudly served as a School Counselor at Bassick for the past 3 years, where I have valued forming relationships and helping students, staff and families. I am thrilled to announce that I will now be serving as Assistant Principal. I am eager to work for the Bassick Community in my new role and to continue to see our students succeed. Please feel free to reach out to me any time as I am passionate about working together to ensure student success. Prior to my role as assistant principal, I was a School Counselor in Bridgeport since 2014 and I have worked at the Elementary, Middle and High School Levels. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Fairfield University where I majored in Sociology and double minored in Psychology and Art History. I have a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Fairfield University as well as a Master's Degree in Administration And Supervision from Fordham University. 
In addition to being a certified Intermediate Administrator and School Counselor, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Restorative Practices Trainer. The national organizations she belongs to are: American School Counselor Association (ASCA), American Couseling Association (ACA), Connecticut School Counselor Association (CSCA), Alpha Kappa Delta, Alpha Mu gamma, and Chi Sigma Iota.
