  • WHAT IS SEL?

    SEL is the process through which all young people and adults:

    *acquire and apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel free to show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.

  • RESTORATIVE PRACTICES

    Restoratative Practices: 

    • Seeks to build positive relationships & repair harm when it occurs.
    • Consists of methods and interventions that work to prevent harm and conflict by creating a sense of belonging, safety and social responsibility. 
    • Shift discipline mindset from punitive to restorative.
    • Focus on harms caused and learning consequences that are necessary to repair and support strong relationships among all school community members.

  • THE RULER APPROACH

    RULER = Recognize, Understand, Label, Express and Regulate Emotions

    RULER is an evidence - based approach for integrating social and emotional learning into schools, homes, and communities. RULER develops emotional intelligence in adults and children. Our initiative works with students from preschool to high school and all adults involved in their education: school administrators, teachers, support staff, coaches, parents and family members using Four Anchor Tools and a comprehensive Pre K - 12 Curriculum.
