• With over 600 students enrolled in grades pre-K through 8, Roosevelt is a full-service school with a nurse practitioner, social workers, and a psychologist that are available to assist all students along with teachers and the education staff. Our students reflect the rich, diverse community that we serve. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality education for all students through a rigorous arts-integrated academic program, a comprehensive support system, and a philosophy that centers on the child as an artist and an individual. 

     

    Students with high participation in the arts outperform peers with low arts participation on measures of academic and civic outcomes. 

    High arts participation is positively connected with "school grades, test scores, honors society membership, high school graduation, college enrollment and achievement, volunteering, and engagement in school or local politics," as well as with higher rates of participation in extracurricular activities in high school and college. This relationship is particularly robust for students from low socioeconomic status backgrounds (Caterall, 2012).
