    Fairchild Wheeler's Community Service Club planned and hosted the 1st Relay for Life in the history of Bridgeport Public Schools on June 5, 2015 at Fairchild Wheeler Inter-district Magnet School. From 6pm - 6am, more than 500 community members gathered together in solidarity to fight a disease that knows no age, gender, race, religion or boundaries of any kind.

    The Relay for Life of Bridgeport hosted tons of events during every hour of the 12 hour event and featured speeches from Mayor Bill Finch, teacher Jess Alvarado and Fairchild Wheeler sophomore Emily Kolodziej. All in all, Bridgeport's Relay featured over 40 teams that fundraised on-site during the event. After its final count, the Relay For Life of Bridgeport raised over $23,000 towards the American Cancer Society and finding a cure.
